A Brooklyn woman allegedly tried to hire a hit man to kill her husband using a $60,000 stamp collection, police say.
Elena Adams, 57, was arrested Thursday and is charged with criminal conspiracy and criminal solicitation. Police say she gave a rare stamp collection and jewelry to an undercover NYPD investigator as payment in a plan to kill her husband.
The woman allegedly planned to have her husband killed after they had lunch Sunday at a restaurant in Sheepshead Bay. She wanted her husband to be hit by a car while the couple was crossing the street, police said.
Adams was arrested Thursday as soon as she got out of the car where she planned the murder.
It wasn't immediately clear if Adams has an attorney.
