A 3-year-old girl has died following a hit-and-run crash Sunday, a family member said.
Asia Thomas was at a birthday party playing in a bounce house before wandering into the street and being struck by a vehicle in the 2400 block of North Mountain View, police said.
Nobody noticed she had wandered into the road until it was too late.
"It was an accident," said Andrea Thomas, a second cousin.
Everyone went running to the child. Neighbors came out of their houses.
The mother cradled her daughter. The driver disappeared up the road.
Witnesses had varying descriptions of the suspected vehicle and police said they have partial license plate numbers.
Family members took the Asia to a hospital where she was listed in grave condition before dying Tuesday evening, a cousin told NBC4.
