An 18-month-old baby girl died after her grandfather accidentally struck her with his van in Highland Park on Saturday, officials said.
Officers responded just before 2 p.m. to reports of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian in the 3500 block of Marmion Way, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Investigators said the grandfather of a baby girl was backing his van out of his driveway when he hit her.
The baby, who suffered major injuries in the collision, was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
